I wanted to celebrate my book Daring Adventures In Paint at Rare Device because I <3 the owners Giselle + Phurba (as well as the former owners Lisa + Rena) and it’s a favorite store of mine in SF and I’m sentimental like that.

These “Show The World Your Magic” signs became the end papers for the book and fun times for Les and I as we ran around the Mission finding folks to hold the signs… from store owners, firemen, friends and a funny man in suspenders at a dive bar to shots Les took in Vermont last summer at the Bread and Puppet Circus too!

It was perfect in my eyes! There was a fun crowd and lots of friends showed up, but I never felt uncomfortably on the spot or center stage. It truly felt like a celebration of all the hard work and love put into the book.
